For his presentation „Smooth Singularity Free Solution to the Three-Dimensional Bearings-Only Tracking Problem", given at the AIAA Guidance, Navigation, and Control Conference 2016, Lorenz Schmitt received a "Best Presentation in Session Award". The event was held in San Diego, California, USA from January 4th - 8th, 2016.

For his presentation "Fast Generation of Landing Paths for Fixed-Wing Aircraft with Thrust Failure", given at the AIAA Guidance, Navigation, and Control Conference 2016, Johannes Stephan received a "Best Presentation in Session Award". The event was held in San Diego, California, USA from January 4th - 8th, 2016.

 


 

Johannes Stephan receives DGLR Young Researcher Award

Johannes Stephan receives DGLR Young Researcher AwardJohannes Stephan received an award for the promotion of young scientists by the German Aeronautical and Astronautical Society (DGLR). In particular, the committee recognised his contribution on the Control Allocation for Over-actuated Systems in Aerospace.

The prize was awarded on the 22th September 2015 at the 64th German Aeronautical and Astronautical Convention in Rostock, Germany.

Prof. Fichter selected as Associate Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA)

 Prof. Walter fichter selected as AIAA Associate FellowThe American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) has selected Prof. Fichter as an AIAA Associate Fellow. The grade of Associate Fellow recognizes individuals “who have accomplished or been in charge of important engineering or scientific work, or who have done original work of outstanding merit, or who have otherwise made outstanding contributions to the arts, sciences, or technology of aeronautics or astronautics.”

The award ceremony took place in January 2015 during AIAA SciTech 2015 in Orlando, Florida.

 


 

Michael Frangenberg receives “Best Presentation in Session Award”

For his presentation "Fast Actuator Fault Detection and Reconfiguration for Multicopters", given at the AIAA Guidance, Navigation, and Control Conference 2015, Michael Frangenberg received a "Best Presentation in Session Award". The event was held in Kissimmee, Florida, USA from January 5th - 9th, 2015.

 


 

Alexander Joos receives Medal of Honor from the Foundation Werner-von-Siemens-Ring

Alexander Joos receives Medal of Honor from the Foundation Werner-von-Siemens-Ring On December 13, 2013 Alexander Joos received a junior scientist award for his contributions in the field of autonomous aircraft. The ceremony was held in the concert hall “Die Glocke” in Bremen.

The picture on the right shows (from left to the right): Hermann Scholl (former Chairman of the Board of Management of the Robert Bosch GmbH, now Honorary Chairman of the Bosch Group), Manfred Fuchs (Aerospace entrepreneur, Founder OHB), Alexander Joos, and Joachim Ullrich (President of the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt).

For his presentation “Method for Parallel FPGA Implementation of Nonlinear Model Predictive Control”, given at the IFAC Workshop on Embedded Guidance, Navigation and Control in Aerospace (EGNCA-2012), Alexander Joos received a “Best Presentation in Session Award”. The event was held at the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore from February 13th -15th, 2012.

 


 

Eurocopter Preis 2012, Adrian Kus

Adrian Kus receives Eurocopter prizeIn 2012 Adrian Kus was awarded with the Eurocopter prize for his diploma thesis “Active Control of Ground Resonance based on Analytic Modeling Approach“. The Eurocopter prize is dedicated to outstanding student theses in the field of  helicopter technology.

Moritz Niendorf receives DGLR Young Researcher Award

In 2011 Moritz Niendorf received young scientists award by the DGLR. His diploma thesis "Two-Stage Motion Planning for a Fixed-Wing UAV Incorporating a Tree-Based Local Planner with Motion Primitives" was awarded with the IABG foundation prize.

ZARM promotional award 2007, Martin Trittler

Martin Trittler receives ZARM awardMartin Trittler received the first place prize of the ZARM promotional award 2007 for his diploma thesis. His work „Differential Optical Shadow Sensing Testbed for Gravitational Reference Sensors“ was created at Stanford University (Prof. DeBra, Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics) in cooperation with the IFR.
