The AIAA SciTech Forum is an annual international conference that brings many individual specialties together, including the Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) community in which iFR focuses its contributions.  This year’s conference featured a total of nine iFR papers on topics ranging from comet landing trajectories to autonomous takeoff and landing, with many of the presenters able to make the trip to San Diego in person for a welcome return to physical participation in the scientific community.  Links to all presented papers can be found below.

A highlight of iFR’s virtual presence at the conference was to be found at the GNC Student Competition, where doctoral candidate Adam Vigneron was among the six finalists selected to present.  After a strong virtual presentation despite his 3am (CET) start time, Adam finished as the runner-up, thereby improving on his performance as a finalist in last year’s competition.  After a good night’s sleep, Adam resumed his work on high-precision control systems for scientific spacecraft under the joint supervision of iFR and Airbus (Friedrichshafen).
